Summer School Week 2 – Day 2
Summer School Week 2の2日目も、ものづくりや実験を通して、子どもたちの笑顔があふれる一日となりました。
午前中は、Sail Carの土台作りに取り組みました。風の力で車が進む仕組みを考えながら、一つひとつ丁寧に組み立てていきました。また、Straw Painted Firework Craftにも挑戦しました。ストローで絵の具を吹き広げて夜空に咲く花火を表現する活動では、「もっと広がるかな？」「花火みたいに見えるかな？」と何度も工夫を重ねる姿が見られました。思い通りの形にならず苦戦する場面もありましたが、最後にはそれぞれが満足のいく、色鮮やかな花火を完成させることができました。
午後には、Sail Carを完成させ、いよいよ走行テスト！友達と完成した車を見せ合いながら、「どっちが速いかな？」と競争を楽しみ、大きな歓声があがっていました。風を受けて車が走るたびに笑顔が広がり、何度も改良しながら挑戦する姿がとても印象的でした。
さらに、Make a Pipe Cleaner Person to Parachuteでは、リースで人形を作り、オリジナルのパラシュートを完成させました。完成するとすぐに高いところから飛ばして遊び始め、「ゆっくり降りてきた！」「もう一回やろう！」と夢中になって何度も挑戦していました。
さまざまな活動を通して、試行錯誤しながら工夫することの楽しさや、友達と一緒に喜びを分かち合う姿がたくさん見られた、充実した一日となりました。
Summer School Week 2 – Day 2
Day 2 of Week 2 was another exciting day filled with creativity, engineering, and lots of fun!
During the morning, students began building the base for their Sail Cars, carefully constructing vehicles that would eventually be powered by the wind. They also created Straw Painted Firework Craft artwork by blowing paint through straws to create colorful fireworks. At first, it was tricky to make the paint spread in a way that looked like real fireworks, and many students experimented with different techniques. Their persistence paid off, and by the end of the activity, most students were delighted with their beautiful, vibrant creations.
In the afternoon, students completed their Sail Cars and eagerly put them to the test. They proudly showed their finished vehicles to one another before racing them across the room to see whose car could travel the fastest. The classroom was filled with cheers, excitement, and plenty of laughter as students encouraged each other and celebrated every successful run.
Students also made a Pipe Cleaner Person with a Parachute. After carefully creating their parachute characters, they couldn't wait to test them out! They happily dropped them again and again, watching them float gently to the ground and experimenting with different ways to make them fly. It quickly became one of the day's favorite activities.
Throughout the day, students showed wonderful creativity, perseverance, and curiosity. Whether improving their artwork, testing their Sail Cars, or launching their parachutes, they embraced every challenge with enthusiasm and had an amazing time learning through play.
