Day5
On the final day of Summer School, the students took part in our Shopping Game. Over the past few days, they carefully prepared their products while thinking about what would make their customers happy. When the Grade 1–3 students came to shop, our students eagerly welcomed them and enjoyed serving as shopkeepers. They were thrilled to see the items they had worked so hard to create being purchased, and their smiles reflected their sense of accomplishment and joy. During Activity Time, they also taught the younger students how to make some of the products. It was wonderful to see them patiently and kindly helping the younger children. Their thoughtful interactions created a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making it a wonderful way to conclude our Summer School.
最終日の今日は、ショッピングゲームを行いました。子どもたちは今日まで、「どのような商品があったらお客さんに喜んでもらえるだろう」と考えながら、準備を進めてきました。当日は、1～3年生の子どもたちがお店に買い物に来ると、生き生きとした表情で接客をする姿が見られました。自分たちが心を込めて作った商品が次々と売れていく様子に、子どもたちは達成感と喜びにあふれた笑顔を見せていました。また、商品の作り方を教えるActivity Timeでは、下学年の子どもたちに優しく丁寧に教える姿も見られました。相手のことを考えながら関わる姿がとても印象的で、温かい雰囲気の中で活動を終えることができました。
In the afternoon, the students took part in two science experiments: making ice cream and creating Oobleck.
午後は、理科の実験の一環として、アイスクリーム作りとOobleck（ウーブレック）の実験を行いました。
During the ice cream experiment, they explored why ice cream can be made in such a short amount of time while carrying out the activity. Afterward, they happily enjoyed tasting the ice cream they had made, and their smiling faces said it all.
アイスクリーム作りでは、「なぜ短時間でアイスクリームができるのか」を考えながら実験を進めました。実験の後には、自分たちで作ったアイスクリームをおいしそうに味わう子どもたちの笑顔があふれていました。
In the Oobleck experiment, the students mixed cornstarch and water to create a fascinating substance that becomes hard when pressure is applied but flows like a liquid when touched gently. They were captivated by its unique texture and eagerly explored its unusual properties throughout the activity.
Oobleckの実験では、片栗粉と水を混ぜて、強く力を加えると硬くなり、ゆっくり触ると液体のように流れる不思議な物質を作りました。初めて体験する不思議な感触に興味津々で、夢中になって実験に取り組んでいました。
