Grade 2-3B Summer School - Week 2, Day 2 - Part 2

In the morning, the students worked in groups to create summer-themed board games. They used their communication skills to decide on a group theme and assign different tasks to their group members. They showed a lot of creativity and are looking forward to playing their games tomorrow.

In the afternoon, they took on a new engineering challenge by creating towers with marshmallows and toothpicks. Students had to consider how to build structures that could survive an "earthquake", simulated by shaking the desk for 10 seconds. Each team had a set amount of materials to use, so they had to be creative about how to build the strongest tower. It was a good opportunity for the students to review what they learned about 3D shapes earlier in the week.

There was a surprise bonus challenge as well. The students had to try to build on top of a less-than-solid foundation: a block of konnyaku. Each team showed their ingenuity for this unique challenge.
